For Forty years Moses wandered in the wilderness,
Leading his people to the promised land.
For forty years they travelled, trying to find home.
Forty years is a long, long time.


And he was like the wandering Aramean,
travelling from place to place, always heading for home.
The journey was a long one, but through it all,
God was by his side.


For forty days Jesus wandered in the wilderness,
finding the strength he'd need in days to come.
For forty days he fasted, depending on God.
Forty days is a long, long time.


And he was like the wandering Aramean,
travelling from place to place, always leading us home.
His journey was a hard one, but through it all,
God was by his side.


Oh, let us be like the wandering Aramean,
travelling from place to place, always looking for home.
